Dr. Octagon is a persona created and by rapper Keith Matthew Thornton aka Kool Keith, an extraterrestrial time traveling gynecologist and surgeon from the planet Jupiter in the year 3000.
Dr. Octagonecologyst is the debut solo album released in 1996 on Bulk Recordings. It was later re-released on DreamWorks Records in 1997. The album was produced by Dan "The Automator" Nakamura and featured phenominal skratching on the turntables by DJ Q-Bert.
Dr. Octagonecologyst has been considered one of the best hip-hop albums of the 1990's. The character Dr. Octagon has appeared in multiple works by Kool Keith, including "First Come, First Served" and Dr. "Dooom 2", both of which contain tracks in which Octagon is murdered by Dr. Doom.
